Arrival/Dismissal
Please note that our locations and procedures for car rider, at Mustang Elementary, have not changed. Please remember no cell phones and have your child ready. If office assistance is needed, park in the front parking lot and use the front office. Staff members will be positioned throughout the building to assist students safely to their morning locations. As always, we appreciate your patience and grace during the first few weeks as everyone learns and readjusts to our routines! Please remember the front loop is reserved only for bus, daycare and PreK.
(Reminder: left turns from and onto 152 are prohibited.)
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Mustang Elementary drop off procedures are as follows: Only buses, daycare vans, and PRE-K students will be allowed to drop off at the front of the building. All car riders, K-4th grade, must be dropped off at our car rider loop on the east side of the building. Student drop-off begins each morning at 7:15 am. Please DO NOT drop off your students prior to 7:15 as there is no supervision.
The tardy bell rings at 7:40 am. At this time, east/car loop doors will be shut and locked. Parents MUST accompany their child to the office where they will check in. Students will be counted tardy after 7:40 a.m.
During afternoon dismissal, if a parent forgets his/her tag, he/she will have to go to the office and show ID. Once the ID has been verified, your child will be sent to the Office and be dismissed to you.
- If you need to change the way your child is going home, please call the office (405- 376-2491) by 2:00 p.m. to give office staff time to get messages to the teachers.
- Please display your car rider tag on the window or up off the dash so it is visible to those calling names. The car rider tag must be this year's tag and cannot be a photo or screenshot.
Pre-K drop off time is 7:40-7:55 Unless they have an older sibling attending Mustang Elementary school. Older siblings are allowed to be dropped off with the Pre-K student in the Pre-K drop off loop beginning after 7:15. Pre-K car tag is required to be visible when entering the parking lot entrance. Please DO NOT enter the parking lot until AFTER 7:15 so our busses can stay on schedule.
Where will students go each morning when they report to the school?
When students arrive in the morning whether it be by daycare, car or bus, students will be greeted by a Mustang Elementary staff member. Each staff member will help direct students on where to enter the building each morning.
Students eating breakfast:
Students eating breakfast will go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast. Breakfast hours are 7:15am-7:40am.
Students not eating breakfast:
Students arriving from daycare, bus and car who are not eating breakfast will enter the building using door 45. Upon entering the building, students will go to the gym.
PreK Arrival:
Pre-K students will arrive through the front car rider loop. These students will also be greeted upon arrival by a Mustang Elementary staff member. Pre-K students are also eligible to purchase breakfast from the cafeteria.
PreK Students eating breakfast:
A staff member will direct them to the cafeteria to eat breakfast. If your Pre-K child needs to eat breakfast, please inform the staff member helping your child out of the car so they are directed to the correct place.
PreK Students not eating breakfast:
Students arriving from cars who are not eating breakfast will proceed to their classrooms.
